This workshop will focus on representational drawing skills using pencil and ink and equip students to capture the subtle forms and gestures of fresh specimens. We will begin by taking a short walk in nature just outside the studio to collect our subjects for the day. We will then cover drawing tools and materials, and work through a few warm-up exercises before diving into pencil and ink techniques like line weight, perspective, negative space, and shading. We’ll go over how a using a grid system can aid your drawing accuracy before finishing the day creating a detailed ink drawing.

Tuition includes: 6 hours of instruction, take home tools and materials kit, lunch, drinks and snacks.

Workshop will be held at my studio in the woods outside of Berea, Kentucky.
