There is something so special about drawing and painting plants outside in their natural environment. This workshop is timed to take advantage of the many spring wildflowers that grow along the creek just a brief walk from the studio. We will cover how to choose and manage botanical subjects outdoors to simplify the drawing process, using a limited palette of watercolors to mix colors, and how to deal with tools and materials in the open air. Come prepared for a day primarily outside, chairs and shade will be provided.

Specifically designed for the enthusiastic beginner, no experience required!

Each student will take home instructional handouts, a paint brush, watercolor paint samples, 4-6 technique exercises, a finished illustration, and a small gift from my studio.
